FaMiLy FuN

On Friday, my family and I went up to Mesquite, NV to meet some family there and go quadding. One of my cousins was in a dance competition in St. George, so they decided to bring their quads and invited us. We didn't leave until I got off work on Friday and then drove all the way up there. After we got out of Vegas my mom had me drive the rest of the way, we got there about 1:30 am and my family slept the last hour. We got checked in and hit the sack because we were all dead tired. The next morning we went to breakfast with our cousin, Mike and his son, Cade. After breakfast my family headed up to St. George to meet my favorite cousin, Tam! We were going to meet her at her Paula's, her favorite place to eat. Her birthday was on Thursday, so we stopped at the gas station on our way into town and bought her a bunch of gifts. I know you are thinking, "What kind of birthday presents could you possibly find at the gas station?" Well, let me tell you. We got her stay awake, a shot glass, diet pepsi, comb, floss, street map of St. George and Cedar City, a big blue diamond, car air freshner, sucker with a scorpian in it, and a mood ring. We made her wear the mood ring while she opened this all up because we needed to know her mood. HAHA! If any of you watch FRIENDS, then you might find the humor in this. Tam's son, Kyson and her husband came to lunch with us. It was so good to see Kyson. He just got back from his mission in January and I hadn't seen him since way before his mission.

After we got done with lunch, we hit up Deseret Book and then headed back down to Mesquite to do some quadding. We just went on the south side of town and we didn't start out until about five. It was beautiful where we went quadding. We took this trail that was supposed to wrap back around and end up close to where we parked. At one point, we got to this hill and my sister and I were following Mike and Cade. They have racing quads, so they are light. When they got about 3/4 of the way up their quad started tipping so Mike tried to get off but just fell off instead and somehow lost his shoe in the process. I'm not sure how because he lost his shoe on the opposite side of where he fell off. When he fell off, the quad started rolling backwards and I have never seen a grown man move so fast. He jumped up but had kinda lost his balance and was running down the hill backwards until he caught himself on our quad. All my mom and his brother, Kevin, could see was his running down the hill backwards and they were trying to figure out what had just happened. They pushed their quad the rest of the way up and since our quads have 4 wheel drive we just continued on up without any problems. After my mom came up, Kevin came flying up the hill at about 100 mph (well maybe not that fast but it was fast) and showed us all up.

At that point Kevin's tire had started going flat so he told us that he had to take off and try to get back to the car before it was all the way flat or he would be screwed. So he took off like a bat out of hell and we started following. We were driving down the road and I just kept noticing that the road we were on was going more towards Mesquite than over to the cars. Finally, everyone started noticing this and Mike had gotten a message from Kevin telling us where to turn off and we had missed it by a couple of miles. We all turned around and went back but there were so many roads off of that one that we were all confused. We knew the general direction of where we were supposed to be going but with all of the different roads it made it tough. We finally found the right road and by that point Kevin was in his truck looking for us. When we saw his headlights we were all cheering. Thank goodness Kevin went ahead of us and was able to find his way back to the cars. After being lost for two hours it was good to be found. After got back to the hotel we all went to dinner and then went to bed. I love hanging out with my family, they are awesome.

PRANKS!

A while back my friend Steven and I were chatting on facebook, when Tricia signed on. Steven told me that he should start chatting with her and hit on her. I told him to do it because I knew it would be so funny. As soon as he started hitting on her she called me. I couldn't answer the first time because I was laughing too hard. When she called back I answered and tried so hard to laugh quietly and not into the phone. She was flipping out, telling me that he was hitting on her and asked her out on a date but that she would never do anything. HAHA! It was hilarious. After we had our fun, we finally ended up telling her that it was a prank and she did think it was funny.

Well, the other night I was talking to Tricia while I was on my way to meet Steven to see a movie. She mentioned that it would be funny if she texted him during the movie, trying to hit on him to get back at him for what he did to her. I gave her his number before he got there. We were sitting in the theatre waiting for the movie to start when she text him. It was so funny. He was like this is weird and let me read it. I tried so hard not to laugh. I acted surprised and told him that I didn't recognize the number. He was flipping out, trying to figure out who it was. Then he text her back and asked who it was. She said "oh you know who it is." Then he asked me, "Is this tricia? Did you give her my number?" And I responded by saying, "Why would I give Tricia your number? If it is her then it's because you gave her your number." He said, "Well maybe she is trying to get me back for that time I did this to her on facebook." It was so funny because they both pretty much said the same thing word for word. This continued on for a while and after we got out of the movie he told me it was bothering him and that he was going to call the number. I forewarned Tricia and she just answered and hung up. After we had had our fun for a few hours, she finally gave him the hint of who she was. It was the funniest thing ever, especially to be sitting next to him when it happened.

I was told by Steven that Tricia has no idea what she has even started. I just hope that since I was part of both of them that they don't team up and conspire against me. I love that my friends are so much fun.

Birthday Time!

This past Saturday I went down to Phoenix for my neice and nephew's birthday party. It doesn't seem like Trent can already two. I remember when I first found out that Kassie was pregnant with him. Kashli turned 4 on March 5 and Trent turned 2 on April 9. I absolutely love being an aunt and getting to go down there to hang out with them. Trent finally learned how to say "Kourtney" so he kept walking around all afternoon going "Kourtney! Kourtney! Kourtney!" I loved it! I am so grateful that I am able to get to know this side of my family after all of these years. I love every last minute of it.

Guess who's back?!?!

Short summary: After my mom and step-dad got a divorce, he started dating someone that he found in a bar. She's pretty much everything you'd expect to find in a bar. She's just white trash. They got married on Decmeber 24, 2007, but we did not find out until three weeks later. At that point my brother was the only one that had met her, my sister and I still hadn't. At the beginning of March 2008 my sister had a choir concert and they both came. He took her over there to meet my sister, then took her outside so she could leave, but had to come back in so he could meet my boyfriend. That's not right. A few weeks later I was at Wal-Mart with my grandma and I decided to be the bigger person and go into the salon and introduce myself. She ignored me the whole time and just talked to my sister. She does not like me because I am not his biological daughter even though he raised me and his name is listed on my birth certificate as the father's name. I have pretty much been disowned by them just because she does not like me.

In January 2009, she left him. They got in a fight one night, she called the cops, and he was escorted out. She then proceeded to rob him blind. She took my brother's gun that he had gotten for his birthday the previous year and all of the rest of my step-dad's guns. She took everything. Well, last week at my brother's shoot my mom noticed he was wearing his wedding ring again but he kept his hand in his pocket the entire time - trying to hide it I guess. He took her back. Can you believe that? She robbed him blind and broke his heart, she comes crawling back and he takes her. That is so pathetic.

Now for her name. She drives a Cadillac Deville. So my nick name for her is....you guessed it....Cruella (Deville). The name fits her perfectly. We now have Cruella back in our lives for another few months until she pulls the same stunt again.

my toe

I got my toe stepped on this morning at work by one of my kids. It hurt so bad. It started bleeding really bad and I am pretty sure that my toenail is going to fall off. One of my kids told me that if my toenail falls off then I'm going to die. HAHA! Kids say the funniest things.
